The Ping i540 Golf Irons are engineered for players seeking increased speed, distance and stopping power from a compact players-distance design. Combining a refined profile with advanced technology, the i540 delivers explosive ball speed while maintaining the control and precision better players demand.
Weight savings from a lighter, shallower face and covered cavity allow tungsten weighting to be positioned low in the head along the sole of the 4-7 irons. This lowers the centre of gravity to generate faster ball speeds, higher launch and improved stopping power when attacking the greens.
A forged variable-thickness maraging steel face is 9% thinner to increase flexing across the face. The design creates metal-wood-like bending through the transition areas in the sole and topline, producing faster ball speeds and higher maximum height for exceptional distance performance.
PING’s new inR-Air Technology introduces an internal airbag positioned behind the face within the cavity. This innovation enhances sound and feel at impact while allowing the face to flex freely for maximum performance.The addition of i-Beam Technology strengthens the 17-4 stainless steel body by adding structural support across the cavity. This improves stability and contributes to a more solid feel and pleasing acoustic at impact, while maintaining the powerful ball speeds expected from a players distance iron.
