A more precise and controlled application of paint creates TaylorMade's most consistent outer layer in a ball yet. Microcoating limits paint pooling to maximize the aerodynamics of the dimple pattern. The new TP5x will have a more repeatable ball flight with a tighter dispersion.
A new core formulation increases core COR for more ball speed on high-speed shots. An increased speed gradient, using new, firmer material composition, is designed to add ball speed while fine tuning spin throughout flight.

That speed is largely attributed to new mantle layers, which include new materials for unparalleled ball speeds at the top of the bag.
