Introducing the TaylorMade Milled Grind 5 Wedge, featuring numerous proven TaylorMade technologies, plus new updates for enhanced feel, spin, versatility and overall performance.
For the first time in a TaylorMade wedge, the MG5 wedges are fully forged from soft carbon steel. Inspired by the feedback of Tour professionals, the aim of the process is to provide maximum softness and feel in the players hands whilst ensuring consistency. In comparison to the MG4, the MG5 features a more refined leading-edge curvature and an updated top line which blends for a more symmetrical overall profile.
New to the MG family are aggressive saw-milled grooves. This process allows the TaylorMade designers to edge closer to the legal limits of groove geometry. With reengineered, ultra-light tolerances, steeper walls and sharper radii, MG5 grooves produce more spin than previous MG generations.
Like in MG4, the MG5 utilises a RAW face finish and Spin Tread Technology, this helps players maintain spin and control in all weather conditions. These work in tandem with the new saw-milled grooves to retain 13% more spin than MG4 in wet conditions and maintain consistent launch between wet and dry conditions. Spin Tread Technology works in a similar fashion to the tread on a tire, which creates space for water to exit so the tire can have direct contact with the pavement and better grip the road. In the case of MG5, the treads channel away moisture and allow the golf ball to stay on the face longer while imparting more spin.
MG5 wedges feature six different Tour-inspired grinds, offering golfers more versatility while also simplifying the selection process. Three of these grinds fit into TaylorMade's standard bounce profile which most players gravitate towards: SB, SC and SX.
Fitted as standard with a premium, high performing UST Recoil Dart wedge shaft.

LB Grind:
Designed for players who want the leading edge to sit low to the ground in a variety of face positions. Intended for shallow swing styles and tight, firm conditions.
SB Grind:
Great fit for an array of swing styles and turf conditions. A gentle 4-way camber creates smooth turf interaction with forgiveness on partial swings and bunker shots.
SC Grind:
Built for the player who plays in all types of conditions and demands ultimate greenside versatility. Also provides consistent stability on full shots with heel and toe relief when manipulating the face.
SX Grind:
New to the MG family and the widest sole option, SX uses increased sole curvature to glide through any turf condition with unmatched consistency from the bunker. A signature "Reverse-C" trailing edge relief is designed to keep the bounce consistent as you manipulate the face.
HB Grind:
A high bounce sole option designed with versatility as demanded by better players. Unique heel relief and increased bounce towards the toe is great for softer conditions or steeper swings.
TW Grind:
Updated to reflect Tiger's most current wedge desires. This one featuring additional camber and a new leading-edge blend into the sole for effective bounce and less heel relief.
